It isn’t completely confirmed yet but Mario Lopez’s light-hearted comment on the recent US X-Factor has sparked a social media frenzy over the alleged dating of country-pop phenomenon Taylor Swift and One Direction pretty-boy Harry Styles. Known for his string of infamous exes, Styles has been spotted holding hands with Swift after her recent appearance on the television show last week.
Lopez, host of the reality singing show, announced to audiences that the couple had been spending time together on more than one occasion, going out on a limb to state, “So Taylor Swift and Harry from One Direction – you heard it here first. [They’re] officially hanging out, I can say that much”.
And though the news is exciting for some of Hollywood, Twitter has become the hotspot for death threats directed at Swift, with Styles having to endure his followers going to extreme lengths to show their love for the One Direction star.
“I’ll murder Taylor Swift. She will not date my Harry”, a fan tweeted, according to the Gossip. Another responded with, “If u dating my harry, I kill u”.
Swift recently ended her relationship with 18-year-old Connor Kennedy, but has been enduring rumours of her apparent relationship with Styles since March this year. This time, however, it’s for real. Let’s just hope Harry doesn’t break poor Taylor’s heart; he might end up with a country album dedicated to him in all the wrong ways.
