The Twittersphere has been in overdrive with rumours that Twilight star Kristen Stewart had recently cheated on vampire heartthrob Robert Pattinson.
After US magazine published heated images of Stewart locking lips with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders — in which she worked alongside during her lead in the flick — the young sensation was forced to apologise to an angered fan base.
Sanders, 41-years old and twice the age of Stewart, was also faced with explaining his actions to his wife, model Liberty Ross, and his two children. After confirming the claims were true, Sanders told People magazine of his deepest regret.
“I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family.
“My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together.”
Being Pattinson’s co-star for the last instalment of the Twilight Saga, which is set for release this November, will prove to be a challenge for Stewart, who is now set to endure months of awkward promotions and events relating to the film.
“This momentary indiscretion has jeopardised the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry,” she stated in an interview with People.
Her ordeal with her broken relationship with Robert Pattinson will not be the only thing Stewart will be needing to mend; committed fans of both Twilight and Pattinson are going to prove a great challenge, with abuse being thrown around on social networks in an angry fuss.
Footage of a fan breaking down over the incident has been released, after Stewart tweeted her deepest condolences to the public.
Pattinson is yet to comment on the scandal.
