It’s fair to say that Hurricane Irene is rocking the news pretty hard, not to mention North Carolina.
Irene is threatening many major cities in North-East America, posing the risk of torrential rain, more so than the high-speed winds.
So far, ten deaths have been blamed on the hurricane, though authorities claim it is still too early to tell.
The Category 1 storm is now surging through the coast, bringing with it several reported tornadoes and more than 14 inches of rain.
More than 370,000 people were evacuated from New York City on Friday, with more residents being ordered to leave in the past twenty-four hours.
