Sympathy for New Zealand’s largest city, Christchurch, is being heartfelt again, with a number of aftershock earthquakes striking the city in the past 3 hours.
After the devastation of the Feb 22nd earthquake, killing more than 180 people, Christchurch has been enduring the long, pain-staking challenge of restoration to their beautiful location.
The aftershocks, rating 5.5, 4.4 and 6.0 on the Richter scale, have caused minor avalanches on rock cliffs, and several buildings to collapse, with many structures still being evacuated.
No fatalities have been reported, though destruction is continuing to expand throughout the city, with power being cut to more than 10,000 residents.
With aftershocks increasing in magnitude, residents fear that ones to follow will bear immense damage and destruction.
Like always, deepest sympathy and wishes go to New Zealand.
